In 2015, he returned to Long Island to help found the Pain Institute of Long Island alongside his practice partner and residency mentor, Dr. Durkin. He and his wife currently reside in Port Jefferson Village, where he proudly serves his local community as an active member of the Port Jefferson Fire Department’s Engine Company and Heavy Rescue squad.

The author of numerous journal articles on pain management, Dr. Brown also has regularly presented at national and regional pain conferences. He is a clinical professor for NYIT-College of Osteopathic Medicine and regularly lectures to residents and medical students from NYCOM as well as Stony Brook University Medical Center’s PM&R residency program. He is dual board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine.
His approach to pain management is compassionate, and patient-centered, with a primary focus on improving patient function and facilitating their ability to enjoy life. He tailors his treatment plans– which can include interventional and surgical techniques, medical management, physical therapy and home exercise prescriptions, as well as nutritional advice and supplementation – to create the most effective treatment regimen for each patient. He is adamant that every procedure he performs not only be comfortable for the patient, but held to the highest standards of patient safety without compromise.
