WHAT IS KYPHOPLASTY?
Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure which repairs a vertebral compression fracture and helps to restore the spine’s natural shape.
Kyphoplasty is a two-step process. First, our specialists place a tiny inflatable balloon into a fractured vertebrae. Once it’s inflated, the balloon restores the fractured vertebrae to its original height. Next, our pain management physician slowly injects a specialized bone cement that seals the fracture.
Most patients experience rapid pain relief after the procedure, allowing them to quickly return to their normal daily activities.
